General Summary

Samba Panashe is a community-run band that has been thriving and persevering for the last 15 years. Currently, we have around 26 members of the Bournemouth and Dorset community who make Samba Panashe what it is. Celebrating the vibrant rhythms of Brazilian music is an aspiration for all involved. Immerse yourself in the pulsating beats and colorful melodies that define our performances. We aim to transport you to the heart of Brazilian musical culture, where every note resonates with energy and passion.

Committee Team

These are some of the faces of our lovely committee team. They work hard to ensure everything runs smoothly and maintain a friendly and safe environment for all those who are a part of Samba Panashe. Below, you can get to know them a little and briefly understand their roles within the band.

Maestro

Chris

Chris is our Maestro for the band, he leads us through performances and practices. He works very hard to ensure everyone feels welcome and understands what to do.

He has been running the band for over 10 years and we wouldnt be here without him.

Chairman / Events Organiser

Elaine

Elaine is in charge of collecting fees as well as Organisation of Admin. She also assists in Event Organisation and is an important member to the group.

Treasurer

Barbara

Barbara is our treasurer, she also helps Elaine with admin and ensuring everyone has correct unifrom and drum maintenance. She is well organised and keeps us together.

Events Organiser / Policy director

Mandy

Mandy enforces out Policies and Rules to ensure everyone is treated fairly. She also assists in event organisation and organising performances for the public. She is a very welcoming member.

Safeguarding

Sha Sha

Sha Sha is a long standing member who ensures everyone feels welcome and feels safe. She assists in Safeguarding and with any queries people may have while being happy and bubbly.

Safeguarding / Social Media Rep

Leli

Leli is the Safeguarding Lead for the band and ensures everyone feels welcome and safe. She also looks after and runs the Social Media for the band to help publicise and spread the samba fun.

Decorating Team

Charlie

Charlie is in charge of ensuring in our carnival performances we have all supplies needed to publicise and encompase the brazillian samba feel.

Joey

Joey is a part of Decorating Team, assisting charlie in preping banners and decor, as well as instructing and organising the decorating it self so we can look top form on the day.
